Overview
A harmonograph that employs virtual pendulums to draw Lissajous curves, or related drawings of greater complexity.
A harmonograph is a mechanical device that employs pendulums to create a geometric image. Virtual Harmonograph replaces the mechanical device with an application so you can create them right on your computer. This application emulates a real-world harmonograph with any number of pendulums. Each pendulum has the following settings: - Amplitude: The starting distance the pendulum swings back and forth - Frequency: The rate at which the pendulum moves back and forth - Decay: The rate at which the amplitude decays - Phase: Determines the starting point of the pen Key features: - Can emulate a lateral harmonograph to produce simple Lissajous curves. - Can emulate a rotary harmonograph to produce more sophisticated images like loops and flower shapes. - Includes a rotational pendulum that rotates the drawing surface back and forth in an arc. - Includes a number of "pseudo-pendulums" to control pen width, pen color, and pen opacity. Specify two values and it uses the same pendulum algorithm to move between the two values. - Highly configurable, you can change almost everything about how the image is drawn. - Extremely fast, but with settings to slow down the motion so you can see the image being drawn. - Save, load, export and import harmonograph settings. - Export generated images.
