Automagic password generation.Protecting your security online is a pain. Even big, reputable websites get security breaches sometimes, and I'm prepared to bet that you probably use the same password for a bunch of websites, right? Of course you do - there's only so many different passwords you can remember! But the problem with that is, once the hackers have stolen your password, they can go on a fun little jaunt around the interwebs stealing your data and possibly even buying themselves some shiny new hacker toys from all those websites that remember your card details. Not so good.
You need a unique password for every website, and they all need to be secure (you know, with a mix of upper and lower case letters and some numbers). You'll never remember them all, so you just need a block of PostIt notes to write them all on, right? Wrong!
With PasswordGen, you just remember one password - your master password. PasswordGen then uses this in combination with the domain name of the website (e.g. amazon.com) and works out your website password. Every time you visit the website, it works it out again, meaning you never need to write it down or store it. PasswordGen will even fill it into the password box of the website for you. Then you go about your day without worrying which is your Amazon password and which is your Apple password! But if the hackers get one, they can only get into that single website.
