Play the classic Tic-Tac-Toe gameTic-Tac-Toe is a classic game using just plain paper and pencils wherein two players will make turns marking a 3×3 grid with Xs and Os. When three similar marks are made horizontally, vertically or diagonally, that player is the winner. However, there are times when a best play is done when there are no winners in this game. It is called a cat’s game or cat.
It seems easy, right? Well, That is what most people think this game is but in reality this game requires looking ahead, strategy and planning to figure out your opponent’s next move. That is the reason why this game is often used as an informative and educational tool to children because it teaches good sportsmanship.
So, you think making three Xs and Os side by side is a no-brainier? Then think again. A player of this game must have a strategy to figure out what they need to do in order to win the game. A part of that strategy is to try to figure out and think ahead how you will get three Xs in a row. Your next strategy is to figure out and plan ahead how you can stop your opponent from having three Os in a row.
Your next move depends greatly on watching where your opponent places their mark on the grid. This can change what you do next. If you closely watch your opponent’s every move you can anticipate his strategy and this will guarantee that you will win this game, or if not at least achieve a draw game.
Tic-Tac-Toe is a simple game wherein if you know what you are doing, you cannot lose against your opponent. Also, the other way around, if your opponent knows greatly your strategy and anticipate your next move, you cannot win. However, if both players are good and uses the best strategy the game will end in a draw or tie.
Tic-Tac-Toe is a game played by two players on a 3×3 square grid with each having either an X or an O. Each player take turns in marking a space on the grid. The objective of the game is for one player to be able to make similar marks 3 squares in a row, whether across, up or down. When all square (9 in all) on the grid has been filled by Xs and Os then it is game over. In the event that no 3 similar marks in a row has been made, the game is considered a tie or a draw between two players.
A perfect game (win the game or at least have a tie or draw) is played by a player if he has the choice of putting the first X or O on the grid through the following strategy:
If the player has two Xs or Os in a row whether horizontal, vertical or diagonal and can place the third to get three.
By blocking, the other player has two same marks in a row and the opponent must place the third mark to block the other player.
By making a fork, in this way you create a chance for your opponent to have two threats of you winning the game (having unblocked lines of two marks).
By blocking the other player’s fork, you can achieve this by creating two marks to force the other player to defend their next move.
