Set writing goals. Create projects. Keep track of your progress. Write. Every. Day.Word Keeper Alpha is a tool developed based on the National Novel Writing Month word metrics tool. Just about any author will tell you the best way to finish a book is to write every day. Even if what you're writing isn't the best, it keeps you on task, instead of letting a story sit, forgotten and neglected for a week, or months on end while you wait for your "muse". Using word metrics to help motivate you can help keep you working and get you to muscle through writers block.
Word Keeper Alpha will help you set goals, and track your progress over time through several graphs that give valuable feedback. It has a convenient word counter that lets you simply cut and paste what you've written to find out the word count. It also generates useful stats that let you know how you're doing now, as compared to last month. You can create projects and set goals for them so that you know how much you need to write a day to finish a book or story on time.
Word Keeper Alpha is still in development, and new features are coming.
Future additions will be:
- An API, so that you can integrate your goals and projects into blogs.
- Social interaction, so that you can encourage your friends.
- More charts and options.
- Word Sprints
- Deeper stats, to help you figure out when or where you write best.
- More things as I think of them.
So, sign up, and start / keep writing! That's what WKA is about in the end. To get you to write every day.
