Hit the snooze button on your Chrome desktop notifications!Have you ever wished you could turn off Chrome's desktop notifications for a few minutes or hours? Maybe you're suffering from notification fatigue. Maybe you're about to demo something on your computer and don't want your coworkers to bear witness to your spouse's gushy 'I love youuuuuuu' messages or your crass friend's NSFW jokes. (I'm assuming I'm not the only one with these problems. lol)
Well, now you can! Chrome Do Not Disturb will disable desktop notifications for a specified amount of time and then turn them back on for you automatically. Easy peasy.
===== THE FINE PRINT =====
When Do Not Disturb is OFF, it will change your notifications setting to "Allow All". When Do Not Disturb is ON, your notifications setting is changed to "Block".
This extension does not currently use the "Ask" option. This behavior has changed from the last version because I discovered a problem with the "Ask" option: When the "Ask" option is set by an extension, it overrides all exceptions - which means you're asked every. single. time. whether you want to show notifications for a given site or not. (Lame!) I hope to fix this in the next release so 1) 'Ask' is the default notification state when DND is OFF and 2) Your exceptions (specific sites you want to always allow or always block notifications) are not overridden.
