现在的知乎首页是社交网络与热门问答的混合，时间轴上要么是知乎达人关注的问答、要么是“很多人”关注或赞同的问答，潜台词是，你应该与他人保持一致。这种预设并不合理，使用知乎的初心是，收获、给予喜爱的知识，而知识的提供者是谁、是否受到关注与赞同等，优先级并非最高。
知乎现行机制下，问题是否受到关注与问题质量相关性较小，而与提问人的影响力相关性很大。原因之一是，一个新鲜的问题没有通用的进入潜在受众视野的方法。
以上两个原因，促成了「知了」的诞生。
