Checks in real time if page can be crawled and indexed by Search Engines. Shows possible problems. How it works?
Once you are on any page on the web, SEO Indexability extension will check if this page can be indexable by Search Engines. It basically checks if the page:
- is not closed in robots.txt file
- is not using noindex in robots meta tag.
- difference between content and cached content (if cache available)
Based on the info it gets, the icon of SEO Indexability status change it's color:
Green - page is opened to be indexed by Google
Yellow - possible problem with caching
Red - page is closed from robots
Why you might need it?
Reason 1: To check your own website while working with it. If you see red or yellow status icon you might wanna check whats wrong with your page, and if it's able to be indexed by Search Engine robots.
Reason 2: Link building. Let's say you found the page with a link to your competitor, and you know you can get the same link, but is it worth trying if page is closed from robots? As the result Google won't see the page and your link, so don't waste your time getting the link from unidexable page.
