Visualize the frequency of writing simultaneously for writers who cooperate on a document in Google Docs. This extension is developed for authors who cooperate on a document using Google Docs.
With this visualization extension, authors can have a understanding of how frequently they have worked simultaneously during the cooperation process. If in the log, the time interval between two consecutive edit records from two different authors is less than seven minutes, these two authors are regarded as working simultaneously once. The more frequently they have worked simultaneously, the more collision of ideas during their cooperative process, which might indicate that they have serious discussion on their writing and achieve a better writing quality.
The edge between author A and author B means that they have worked simultaneously. The wider the edge, the more they have worked simultaneously.
Different nodes with different colors stand for all the writers who cooperate on the document. The nodes are in the same size.
This visualization tool was developed with the help of Professor Judith Olson and Ph.D. student Dakuo Wang during my stay at University of California, Irvine in the summer of 2016.
