Try to guide as many blocks as you can to their assigned destination!DETOUR is quite a simple yet thrilling and addictive game! STRONGLY recommended to those who excel in precision!
All it requires you to play is just a mouse so that you can retract/extend the bar at the desired moment!
You must be very careful when you play, however, because it takes precision and mistakes every seriously -- Even if you miss it just by 0.1 second, I can't guarantee that you won't take penalty. Trust me, there will be many occasions in which you will have to quickly determine whether to click or not: if you had clicked at risk and succeeded, virtual "rewards" will follow, though there isn't really anything like items or something you can buy in this game.
Your goal is simple: Guide as many of blocks as you can to appropriate destinations with the bar. There are four types of blocks -- red, blue, brown and mixed -- and two destinations -- up and right. If you let a block bump into the extended bar, it will turn right and arrive at the destination to the right. Conversely, if you do not interfere a block's way by keeping the bar retracted, it will head straight for the destination to the top.

*Before I start about points, PLEASE note that the number of SCORE points you earn is subject to change depending on how many COMBOs you have made. The calculation of the number of points from now on are based on 0-9 COMBOs, or 1X COMBO, which I will talk about later.*
-DESTINATION
The following is the proper destination for each type of blocks: a red block is top - earns 1 point; a blue block is right - earns 1 point; a brown block is top - earns 10 points; a mixed-colored block is right - earns 10 points. In case you don't recall, each block's assigned destination and the points you earn are all written again in the HELP section of the menu.
Of course, if you fail to deliver blocks to their assigned destination, you will take penalty, the severity of which depends of the color of blocks: if red, you will lose 1 CHANCE (I will explain what CHANCE is); if blue, 15 points will be deducted from SCORE; if indigo, 3 CHANCES will be taken off, meaning the game is immediately terminated since you are given a total of 3 CHANCES each game; if mixed-colored, fortunately, you will lose no SCORE points or CHANCES.
-SCORE and CHANCES
SCORE and CHANCE have distinct differences.
Your SCORE can't go below 0, and SCORE cannot be the factor of your death in this game in any way. The SCORE points you have earned/lost from leading blocks to right/wrong destination will be continually accumulated until you've lost all three CHANCES. Each time you send a blue block to wrong destination, the number of MISTAKES will increase by one. Although you can't keep track of MISTAKES during the game, it will be revealed at the end of the match.
On the other hand, CHANCES is irrecoverable by any means until the game is over once you have lost it. In addition, it determines whether to terminate your play -- if your CHANCES hits 0, then the game ends there. Therefore, basically the CHANCES is more precious than SCORES. However, that notion does not necessarily apply to every cases, for you will also encounter cases in which you will find SCORES more important than CHANCES. The number of CHANCES you lose is independent of COMBOS.
-COMBOS
HERE comes COMBOS:
COMBO is very significant, if not most, element of the game because the points you earn varies with the number of COMBOS you have. Simply put, COMBOS are multipliers. The total number of points you earn from accomplishing each task is determined after COMBO multipliers are multiplied by original points. Note that COMBOS and COMBO multiplier are two different terms though both share the same concept. One COMBO is added each time you guide blocks correctly. Once the number of COMBOS you have reaches 10, or, in other words, if you have led blocks correctly 10 times in a row when started from 0 COMBO, your COMBO multiplier will change to 2X from 1X. That way, the total points you earn can be calculated by multiplying 2, from "2"X, by original number of points you were to get. However, the total number of points you lose depends on the COMBO multiplier, too; in other words, the higher your COMBO multiplier is, the greater potential risk you have. Once you have failed to deliver blocks to proper destination, regardless of its color, the number of COMBOS will drop to 0, thereby setting COMBO multiplier to 1X. For example, if you have a COMBO multiplier of 5, and you mistakenly lead a blue block straight to the top, then you lose 75 points because originally you lose 15 points from leading a blue block to the top, which is the wrong destination, and next you have to multiply 15 by 5, the current COMBO multiplier number, giving you a value of 75 total.
COMBO multiplier and COMBOS have the following relationships:
The color of the word changes according to the number of COMBO multiplier and COMBOS for easier notification of the change in COMBO multiplier.
-BLOCKS
Each of blue and red blocks has varying speed although some may be unnoticeable. However, once you've realized the significance of speed difference, you will be able to tell even if it is subtle. The bar is very sensitive to contacts with any blocks, so it will respond immediately to the collision.
Blue and red blocks are also spawned at an irregular intervals.
Brown blocks rarely show up at a regular interval because not only may it give you large sum of SCORE points but it may lead the game to immediate end (3 CHANCES loss) if not taken care of carefully.
A "freedom-seeking" red block sometimes comes out of its original destination and heads to the other end, which is where all the other blocks come out from. You can simply block the way of the red block by just extending out the bar when you see it come out, and you will see it back away immediately instead of continuously approaching until it hits the bar like other usual blocks do. Although it doesn't affect your SCORE or CHANCES, you miss a special opportunity by doing that. If you let it cross the bar boundary by leaving your bar retracted until it passes the bar, then from then, it will just continue going whether you extend the bar or not. Once it reaches the other end, it will soon return as a mixed-colored block at a frustratingly-slow speed. This is when you have to seize your unique chance to raise your COMBO multiplier by 1. If you take it to the right, then you made it. If you failed to make it go right but go straight up, then, thankfully, nothing happens.
-ADDITIONAL INFO
You can always keep track of current COMBOS and COMBO multipliers as well as SCORES and CHANCES.
Unfortunately, the score-keeping system hasn't been set up yet, so I will try to add the feature in as soon as possible.
