The film is directed by Zack Snyder, with a screenplay by Chris Terrio, from a story by Snyder and Terrio,[1] and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, Ciarán Hinds, and J. K. Simmons. In Justice League, Batman and Wonder Woman assemble a team consisting of Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg to face the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.
The film was announced in October 2014 with Snyder on board to direct and Terrio attached to write the script. Principal photography commenced on April 11, 2016 and ended on October 14, 2016. Snyder left the film on May 22, 2017, following the suicide of his daughter; Joss Whedon was brought on to finish reshoots and the post-production process. Justice League is scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017, in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.
